Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol (1962)
The first Christmas special! Mr. Magoo is a unappreciative, stingy boss who underpays his workers fifty-fifty during Christmas. He is visited by the spirits of Christmas to see the error of his ways.
This motion-picture show follows the Christmas Carol story to a t, the only difference is that the magoo characters are doing a play of the Christmas Carol. I wished they used that idea by making gags similar the muppets show did just of you take out the minute or and so of them establishing that information technology is a play nix would change. This is a TV picture show so don't expect anything astonishing in the blitheness department. This is also a musical and I'm gonna be honest, I only watched this a few minutes ago but I tin't really retrieve the songs.
This isn't the worst Christmas special or Christmas Ballad adaptation but isn't the best either. It's perfectly serviceable for what it is.

Fan Art Friday - Mister Magoo
Y'all? The subject field for this week's #FanArtFriday? Oh, Mister Magoo, you've done information technology again! And jubilant your vocalisation artist, Jim Backus, on what would've been his 109th altogether, also!

A 1001 Arabian nights (1959)
This is a Mr.magoo movie, I never bothered to look into what Mr.magoo is actually about before this. Mr.Magoo is the uncle of Aladdin. The 2d of control of the sultan is stealing coin without the sultan's noesis. Mr. Magoo wants Aladdin to be married so he falls in love with the princess. The second in control wants to get the lamp from Aladdin by pretending to exist Mr.magoo's long lost brother. Hijinks go on until Mr.Magoo unwittingly kills of the villain.
This probably should of been a TV special instead of a total fledged flick, it but feels stretched out to get in picture length. The whole gag of Mr.magoo is that he is hard of hearing and nearly sighted, which could work as a short but in the movie information technology's merely the same jokes over and over once more. This is just the story of Aladdin with Mr.magoo awkwardly shoehorned in. I call back I need to mention the whitewashing in this, I completely sympathise keeping their iconic characters white but at most some characters are tan.
The virtually interesting matter about this is how this affected the animation manufacture. UPA was made upwardly of Disney animators that left during the artist strike then UPA's whole point was that they didn't want to be annihilation similar Disney. The art style inspired Hana Barbara's iconic style and a popular Disney short called toot, whistle, plunk and blast. They're naturally a bit bitter towards Disney and then you tin come across a couple of jabs towards them, which I'm ok with but information technology sort of makes them seem elitist.
I wouldn't watch this movie unless you're a big fan of Mr.Magoo.

A Christmas oddity
Every year I rewatch all the most famous moving picture versions of A Christmas Carol and some obscure versions too.
Of course my annual list includes the 1984 version starring George C. Scott as Scrooge. Information technology likewise includes the lesser-known 1978 Rankin/Bass drawing version, The Stingiest Man In Town, with Walter Matthau voicing Scrooge.
It merely so happens that those two actors are buried adjacent. Hither are their graves at Westwood Village Memorial Park in LA:
Every bit you lot can encounter, Matthau's grave is on the right, while the grave on the left with no proper noun on the marker is Scott'south.
I just think it's a strange coincidence that two of the Scrooge actors in the Christmas Carols I sentinel every year are "next door neighbors in eternity," every bit Arthur Dark from Hollywood Graveyard might say. And a third essential Scrooge actor is buried in the aforementioned cemetery too, although in a different section: Jim Backus, who voiced the title character in Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol.
